Starting SalariesBasic Description

The Police Department employs highly motivated individuals to train for the Emergency Communications Center. Individuals selected for the position will be trained to answer 911 calls and/or dispatch police, fire, rescue, and animal control personnel in response to emergency and non-emergency situations using various communication systems. This position requires the ability to work in a confined environment wearing headsets, which restrict physical movement in the work area, and sitting and viewing computer displays for extended periods of time. Candidates must have the ability to perform as a team player, work under pressure, and be available to work all shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays.
