Birmingham, AL — In an effort to help those impacted by cold temperatures this fall, the City of Birmingham will partner with its AmeriCorps VISTAs to host a warmth supply drive on Wednesday, Nov. 8 and Thursday, Nov. 9. The drive will be held in front of Boutwell Auditorium from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Collections will be used to support warming stations coordinated by the city and its community partners, and to help those experiencing homelessness.

Colder temperatures can be a challenge for those experiencing homelessness, which is why the City and its VISTAs are leading this project.
“As AmeriCorps Vista members, we strive to help the community and fight poverty every day. This supply and clothes drive is a way for us to extend a helping hand to those in need and uplift our community in every way possible,’’ said Jayla Dudley- Collins, one of the city’s VISTAs.
