Birmingham, AL – After the city’s 24-hour warming station at the BJCC East Ballroom halts at 7 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 18, it will transition to Jimmie Hale Mission with a new schedule. Those needing warm shelter can come to the mission, located at 3420 2nd Ave. North. Food will be provided.
Here are the hours:
- Thursday, Jan. 18 & Friday, Jan. 19 – Evening shelter from 6 p.m. to 7 a.m.
- Saturday, Jan. 20 – 24 hours from 7 a.m. Saturday until 7 a.m. Sunday
- Sunday, Jan. 21 – Evening shelter from 6 p.m. to 7 a.m. on Monday
Those needing transportation to the shelter can be picked up from 6-9 p.m. at Brother Bryan Park, 2100 Magnolia Ave. South; Faith Chapel Care Center, 921 2nd Ave. North; Linn Park, 20th St. North; and the Boutwell Auditorium, 1930 Reverend Abraham Woods Jr. Blvd.
