BIRMINGHAM, AL – City of Birmingham offices will be closed Monday, December 25, 2023 and Tuesday, December 26, 2023 for Christmas. Household garbage pickup will not take place on those two days. Monday and Tuesday routes will see a 2-day delay while Thursday and Friday routes will see a 1-day delay.

City of Birmingham offices will be closed Monday, January 1 2024 for New Year’s Day. Household garbage pickup will not take place on that day. Monday and Tuesday routes will see a 1-day delay while all other routes will remain on schedule.

Residents should not place household garbage bags or items on top of city-issued garbage carts. Household garbage should be placed inside the cart.
Due to the holiday makeup schedule, there will be no recycling on Wednesday, January 3, 2024. Outlying service areas will continue to be serviced for refuse collection on Wednesdays as normally scheduled.
